Subconscious Reprogramming
Subconscious reprogramming is the answer to many of our daily challenges. If you haven\’t tabbed the article about Autopilot, and The did and mirror\’s law, now is the time. That will explain why things happen in our lives and how we can interpret them. Subconscious reprogramming is the last step to remove all the blockages that are impeding us from moving forward freely as we want. But what is exactly subconscious reprogramming?
Let\’s start with what is the subconscious. Science recognizes the subconscious as the unconscious. So when you hear either one, they are referring to the same but one is science-based and the other is not. Depending on the author or research study, it accounts for 90% to 97% of the brainpower while the conscious only accounts for the rest; a mere 3% to 10%. Have you ever heard that we use only a small fraction of our brain? Well, this is why. The rest is not unused but programmed to work automatically.
The subconscious is responsible for keeping us alive and performing the functions we don\’t even consider, such as maintaining our body temperature,heartbeat, transpiration, digestion, and many other things our walking lab does to keep us alive. Actually, everything!! The conscious is responsible for reasonings, goals, short-term memory, and willpower to amount others. While the subconscious is in charge of values, beliefs, long-term memory, natural functions, habits, imagination, intuition, and others. But other people can only see what we project, while the truth about ourselves is hidden. The next picture explains that visually.
With tons and tons of practice, we can move things to the subconscious to let them work automatically without even thinking about them. Let me give you an example that most people will relate to learning to drive a car. Most people, if not all, follow these steps:
- You don\’t know that you don\’t know. You are too young and you don\’t even care. People drive you around and you don\’t even pay attention. You are in that state that you don\’t know that you don’t know. Unaware you don\’t know
- You know you don\’t know. You are a child but likely pre-adolescent or older than before and you are aware, consciously, that you don\’t have a clue how to drive. You see adults and tell yourself one day you will learn. This is the first step in the traditional methodology. Being conscious. Being aware (of your habits, your emotions, your beliefs, etc.)
- Then you start learning. But it is so hard. You sit in the driver\’s seat and memorize (memory-task list-conscious) all the things you have to do. Adjust the seat, the mirrors, where are the common commands, etc. And you start driving. If it is one of our countries where you need a stick, you need to think about the combination of gas-clutch pedals, gears, etc. If you drive automatically, it is not much easier. Turning signals, checking the mirrors, etc. You know how to drive, but you are going with the 5% of your brain, it is really difficult for you. You are aware you know but, so it is conscious.
- In the last stage, your subconscious is programmed to do it for you. You sit in the car and, \”without thinking,\” you accommodate the mirrors, the seat, and many times you get to a destination and don\’t realize how you got there? That\’s because you\’re subconsciously and drive with 95% of the brainpower. You are unaware and know how to drive. Your subconscious took care of you.
The table below summarizes the above. The most important thing to understand is that no matter what in life, we follow that process (with variations of course). These are the steps:
- Unaware you don\’t know
- Aware you don\’t know
- Aware you know
- Unaware you know
But let\’s convert one last thing to complete the idea of the subconscious. In the case of driving a car, the program was there because we wanted to. In many other cases, programs get there for many different reasons and from many sources (we don\’t want to offend anybody, so we will leave parts out of this discussion). But since the time we were born, we are programmed by our environment. We may not even know those things are there but because our subconscious contains our values, beliefs, and habits, we act as we were programmed to.
While traditional methods like therapy work brings topics to the conscious, subconscious reprogramming proposes that you decide the result you want and reprogram the subconscious to achieve it. I am not saying this is better or a replacement for traditional therapy. There are cases for everything and they need to be individually evaluated by a specialist.
